The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk published a paper back in 2013 about "The Hyperloop" that outlined what exactly it is and how will it work.He described it as "the fifth mode of transport" which will revolutionize the way of traveling on ground.Although it's been five years, the development is still in progress.
What is Hyperloop ?
Hyperloop is a new way of ground transport which is still currently under development by some companies through which passengers will be able to travel at about 700 miles per hour in pods floating within low pressured tubes.
What will be the Benefits ?
The Hyperloop will be a lot faster than current trains,cheaper and will cause less pollution than air travel.It will make traveling from one city to another easier and faster reducing traffic from the road which will contribute in major economic benefits.
How will it work ?
The tunnels in which the Hyperloop will operate will have most of its air removed although it will not be completely vacuum but less air means more reduced friction and less energy will be required to reach high speed.The Hyperloop pods will be containing the passengers and the pods will be floating in the air because of magnetic levitation.The power required to remove the air would come from solar panels placed on the roof of the tunnel.
When will it be Available ?
Hyperloop are still under development even though the concept has been around from about five years.It is expected to be available by 2021.
